Beenie in court

Beenie man There was more testimony on Tuesday at the trial of dancehall entertainer Moses "Beenie Man" Davis who is accused of tax evasion.

An official from the Government tax department gave testimony before the Tax Court at Sutton Street.

Six representatives from the tax department have so far testified at the trial as the government tries to prove its case against the artiste.

The trial continues on September 29. Beenie Man went to trial in May on allegations that he owes the government more than 40 million dollars in outstanding taxes.

Revenue officials allege that the millionaire artiste failed to pay over the taxes over a number of years. But Beenie man has consistently maintained that his former management company, Shocking Vibes, was responsible for paying his taxes.

The artiste had initially agreed to hold discussions with the tax department regarding a possible settlement, but later decided to challenge the tax assessment. The entertainer was arrested on a warrant last October, after he failed to appear before the Tax Court to answer the charges.

k.jpgDo you remember LifeStyle of the Rich & Famous? Well, Kelly Rowland is starring in the new updated version of this show that features the Best of everything around the world.

Kelly is the new host of the untitled show that has her visiting the hottest food, hotels, restaurants and more. The show started taping last May and many networks are biding for it.

Ok enough of the nicesness, why is Kelly doing this? Would Beyonce? Simple, Kelly's album is a flop. Yes she has a wonderful voice, but somehow no one is buying it. Although she is a huge celebrity in England, there she sells off, so I guess now she had to sell out!

aerosol.jpg I just don't know how much I would trust this, I mean what if you only have a little spray left in the bottle? How much is too much? That is just weird..

What's more likely to make you blush? Nipping into the toilets or your local chemist or for a "packet of three" or buying a can of condom spray?

Well, I'd say the latter, but scientists working at the Institute for Condom Consultancy (yes, it's really called that) are developing such a thing. It's not a traditional aerosol, this one sprays your organ from all sides with latex, creating a perfectly-fitting condom ready for use in just five seconds that's unlikely to slip off.  It's still in the testing phase (at the volunteer stage if you're interested), but should be on the market in different strengths and colours in late 2008.

The Jamaica Olympic Association declined to name the athlete. Association president Mike Fennell said he would not provide details until receiving a final report later Monday from the International Association of Athletics Federations.

Under IAAF rules, athletes testing positive for banned substances have two weeks to submit their "B" sample for tests. If the "B" sample is also tainted, the athlete faces a two-year ban.

So you figured they'd have plenty of time to reflect and write their memoirs. But, it isn't so, so now they are both being sued for $100, 000 for the return of the payment plus interest. Neither lawyer commented. Damn Kim, you know I love you but first they take back the car, now this, come on release another album please, I promise I'll pay for it!

Ne-Yo may have won a Grammy for his last album, Because of You, and penned Beyoncé's massive "Irreplaceable," but that doesn't mean he's sticking with the formula. When we ran into the singer at a Tanqueray No. Ten-sponsored party for VH1's Save the Music at the Reid estate in East Hampton this weekend, he told us he's trying to change things up for his upcoming album, Year of the Gentleman. "For inspiration I started listening to stuff like Coldplay, Radiohead, some of the Beatles' old stuff." He even tried to learn how to play guitar, but it didn't take. "They didn't tell me that learning to pay the guitar hurts. Your fingers bleed and they cramp. I was like, 'This is not sexy. I do not like this.'" He gave it the old college try for two weeks before calluses started to show, "and that's when I gave up. I was like, 'Nah. I'm okay.' Playing guitar is not the hottest thing. And then when you shake a person's hand, you've got sandpaper hands. No, thank you."

LONDON: The British Army says it is considering a recruitment drive in Jamaica as it struggles to find enough soldiers to meet its international commitments.

The military says it is weighing whether to send an Army "overseas selection team" to Jamaica. The Caribbean country is a former British colony and remains a part of the Commonwealth.

The military has had difficulty recruiting and retaining soldiers as it maintains its deployment in Iraq and engages a resurgent Taliban in Afghanistan.

The Army said in a statement Sunday that it is proud to recruit soldiers from countries with close historical ties to Britain.

The British military already employs some 600 Jamaican soldiers. They are among about 12,000 foreign and Commonwealth personnel who serve in its armed forces.

Does that mean that it will be easier for Jamaicans to get a visa for England?

KINGSTON, Jamaica, July 16, 2008 - Jamaica is leading the Caribbean in the fight against AIDS, having reduced the prevalence rate of HIV in Jamaica to about 1.5 per cent, the country's Minister of Health Rudyard Spencer has reported.

He made the revelation at the recent launch of the US$44.1 million Global Fund Agreement in the capital. The agreement is Jamaica's second HIV/AIDS proposal to the Global Fund, following the Ministry's successful implementation of the first HIV/AIDS proposal to the Global Fund (2002-2009).

Unless you really are determined to go to Jail, be a little more humble, I mean unless you have life without parole there is always a chance you can get out, so be nicer to the Judge. (Thanks MediaTakeOut for heads up )

PHOENIX (AP) -- Rapper DMX was arrested at a Phoenix mall Saturday on suspicion that he gave a gave a false name and Social Security number to a hospital to get out of paying for medical expenses.

Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio said that when DMX, whose real name is Earl Simmons, went to Scottsdale's Mayo Clinic in April, he used the name "Troy Jones" and failed to pay a $7,500 bill.

DMX's Scottsdale attorney, Cameron Morgan, declined to comment.

Arpaio said his office began investigating the charge following an animal neglect investigation last year at the 37-year-old rapper's north Phoenix home. DMX was arrested in that case on felony drug possession and misdemeanor animal cruelty charges after authorities seized 12 pit bull dogs and dug up the remains of three others.

Hey Malaika,
I am having a problem with my man, we have been together one year and it is not getting any better, I tried to talk to him but he just doesn't hear me or doesn't care to hear me. He doesn't give me any love or affection, the only time he holds me, or kisses me is when we have sex, and still when we do he barely kisses me and it's just 2 minutes and done.
We walk together and he won't hold my hand, we lay in bed and we are so far apart, I hear my friends say how they lay in their man's arm and I get jealous.
I can't remember the last time that he kissed me, really kiss me for more than 2 minutes. I can't go on like this, I need some affection. What can I do to get through to him? We broke up 3 times already and then he swear he will change, but things don't change. Help me please. B.
