(Kingston, Jamaica)Roy Thompson a.k.a. Bugle was born in Portland, Jamaica. His fledgling love affair with music began as early as in primary school however, this affair never matured until the birth of the new millennium when he met dancehall recording artiste Oniel Bryan a.k.a. Elephant Man in 2000.
He was then ushered into the dancehall fraternity when he was asked to write for Elephant Man, this soon materialize into tours and shows in the U.S and Canada which allowed the easy going deejay to meet international superstars like Janet Jackson and Pharrell. In 2005, Bugle met Shawn Scott, CEO of Shawn Scott Music Group (SSMG) under whose auspices he stayed for one year. However, the clipped wings of music must be emancipated for Bugle to truly echo his story in song...At the midstream of time Bugle severed the ties with SSMG and in mid 2007 Bugle embraced the musical oasis that DASECA Productions represents. DASECA a triad team of young producers lead by the melodic Serani committed to fostering freedom of musical expression whilst ensuring that the human face of music is nourished. As the spotlight parts the darkness the black wings of Bugle's musical soul pierces the silence as he emerges singing "What We Gonna Do?" (Exercise) the anthem of his emancipation, a song that resonated in the streets on Kingston for months on ends. As the spotlight focus on Dancehall's newest sensation the dancehall fraternity known for "one hit wonders" waited patiently too see if Bugle could compete and that he did launching out the sequel to the debut single, a song called "Journeys".
A collab with fellow friend Serani on the single "Doh"
launched the two on top of several local Dancehall Charts. With
internationally airplay to match Bugle has graced many prominent events
such as Sting, Irie Jamboree and even this years Best Of The Best Concert in Miami.
