Senita.
History doesn’t define us, but the present shapes our future. Word of simple young man more popularly known as Senita but whose real name is Deon Mullings. Born on May 28th, 1982 to Dennis and Shirley Mullings a carpenter by trade and law enforcer respectfully is a youth whose simplicity keeps him alive.
Originally from Belfield, St Mary he attended Brimmervale High School where he was one of four siblings. Though unable to finish his schooling he had a passion and an intrinsic love for music. He can recall nights when his father would leave home secretly to attended dances and recorded them on tapes or on a Saturday morning hearing his mother glorifying God vocally at church. From Deebo Ranks to Mr Ranks were names he would call himself as he garnered experience as a selector on Prestige, Delta Force and Fearless amongst others. After realizing that his passion was becoming a Singja he decided to reinvent himself and thus from just scrolling the dictionary he came up with the name Senita which means “.
A 2008 Magnum Kings and Queens Second Place finalist the journey which has taught him discipline and that everything comes in time he can clearly recall not making the auditions at Portmore but at Kingston auditions instead thanks to friend Blak Fyah and Ms. Kitty that reinforced the notion that he indeed has talent and should not give up.
“I’m a Mogul”…..”In and out quickly” where phrase that was synonymous to the Popular Talent Reality Show as he continued to deliver them episode after episode.
Since then he have managed to either write or voice tracks for pioneers in the industry such as Dizzle also known as Dale Virgo, John Baker, Nordia Wither, Charly B from Switzerland and have also worked with Sole Island Music, Lion Heart, Vegas House, Road Block International just to name a few.
Senita is now building his musical repertoire with music that will last for generations to come.
